A few days ago, Jo and I reviewed our initial itinerary.
Route, Driving Miles, Approximate Night Stay At Destination
Boston-Las Vegas, (plane) 1 night
Las Vegas-Sierra Mountains, 480 miles 1 night
Sierra Mountains-Napa, 272 miles 2 nights
Napa-Redwood Forest, 613 miles 2 nights
Redwood Forest-Portland, OR, 330 miles 2 nights
Portland, OR-San Juan Islands, WA, 275 miles 1 night
San Juan Islands-Vancouver, BC, 115 miles 2 nights
Vancouver, BC-Denver, 1500 miles 3-4 days travelling (stops, TBD)
And there you have it. Cannonball Run, 2010.
My "perseverate" button turned on, and after numerous emails and a phone call to Joanna, we both agreed a little more breathing room wouldn't hurt. I actually tried to talk myself out of it, that it would all work out...maybe we'd skip a few places, maybe we'd get burnt out, maybe I'd miss my cat.
I re-booked my return flight (an extra $130) for Friday, August 6th. It's only 2 days, but everyday counts, even for Burt.
